Appleseed’s new Deputy Director and Education Policy Attorney, Jennifer Rainville, will be discussing the new 2026 legislative changes around school discipline and the trends and expected legislation that will be upcoming for the next legislative session.  It will also be a great time to share other changes in school discipline that you think will be helpful as we all join together to continue advocating for youth.  Jennifer is an exceptional education advocate and is looking for ways to push for better legislation as it pertains to youth in the school setting.

Deputy Director and Education Policy Attorney

SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center

 

Jennifer Rainville is the Deputy Director and Education Policy Attorney at South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center, where she fights to eliminate systemic education barriers for children. She has spent her entire legal career fighting for low-income children and families in South Carolina. Prior to her work at Appleseed, Jennifer provided direct representation to low-income families at South Carolina Legal Services, where she kept hundreds of children in school with appropriate services to help them be successful in their education. Jennifer is the current Chair of the South Carolina Bar Children’s Law Committee, former Chair of the South Carolina Bar Education Law Committee, and graduate of the SC Bar Leadership Academy. She was selected as a Midlands Legal Elite from 2019- 2025 in Education law by her peers.
