All Rule 608 Contract Attorneys are required to attend this short Orientation and Training Program. For convenience, the program will be offered on two separate days with morning or afternoon options.
Rule 608, SCACR, provides for the appointment of counsel for indigent persons from members of the South Carolina Bar. In 2012, SCCID and the SC Bar implemented the Indigent Defense Contract Attorney Program to contract with members of the Bar to handle court appointments. SCCID has designed a short training that
- Highlights the obligations and responsibilities under the contract
- Instructs attorneys and/or their staff on how to submit vouchers and make expert requests
